It is an important part of the job of any manager to provide feedback to her/his team members. So if you are managing a team, you probably often think about how you can provide feedback to your team members in a good and constructive way. But what about feedback going the other way ?

You can get very valuable information from your team in order to keep developing because your employees usually know where you need to improve. So you must make sure that you encourage  your team to share this with you by making it easy for the team members to give such feedback.

You could, at team meeting, take a moment to report on your recent work and ask people to rate your efforts. Some may hesitate a little, but they’ll get more comfortable with it over time and you can stimulate the discussion by giving examples of when you’ve gotten tough feedback in the past. Your team knows you better than most people, so ask them for their feedback!
